Here is an old picture I dug up this morning of an eastbound Super Continental at the fuel stand in Melville , Saskatchewan on the morning of March 4th, 1978. I was heading back to school after visiting my folks in Edmonton and walked up to the head end to get some air and snap this photo. I must say that the "all CN train" still looked pretty good. In less than one month's time, VIA would take over operation of the majority of Canada's passenger rail services and soon these trains would have a mixture of CN equipment, CP equipment, in all three railway's liveries. It would not be until VIA reassembled a solid stainless steel Canadian when trains in Canada would look good again!
